Wellness Wednesday - Metabolic Syndrome


According to statistics from Heart UK one in four adults in the UK are thought to have metabolic syndrome! And it affects one in three adults over the age of 50.


What is it?

Metabolic syndrome is the medical name given when you have a combination of health problems - diabetes, high blood pressure (hypertension) and obesity which

leads to a higher risk of heart attack or stroke.



Strength and resistance training are great for over 50s as it helps with bone health, maintaining muscle mass and reduces the risk of metabolic syndrome.
