Massage, the stomach and digestion processes...

Updated: Apr 22

Massaging the stomach can help to relax muscles, alleviate constipation, support digestion and elimination processes.

A 2020 systematic review of the effect of abdominal massage on gastrointestinal functions showed that it alleviated constipation for people with multiple sclerosis, cancer and elderly adults. It also increased bowel movements in constipated individuals.

It is important when receiving a massage to be let the practitioner know what is right for you, always let them know of any changes you wish them to make to pressure, pace, areas being massaged etc so you get the best benefit for you.

Go ahead, treat yourself to some self care!
